‘Many thanks to Brigita for helping us organise our long weekend away for celebrating a LOT of 30^th birthdays!  We all thought the barns were gorgeous – beautifully renovated and it seemed every detail had been thought of from the welcome baskets to the coasters on the bedside tables. Also in a great location to explore the countryside and York itself. We will definitely be recommending it and hope to come back again for our 31sts (with at least one new addition – seems child friendly too!)  May 2011

‘An excellent place for our family reunion. We were able to eat together everyday here in The Hay Barn and the youngest member of the party, 11 months, enjoyed practising her new skill of walking, toddling up and down the long room.  We wish we had brought bicycles.  We used the buses and walked – the Solar Cycle Way from York to Riccall is good fun and very educational. It really demonstrates on a tiny scale the relative distances and sizes of the planets of the solar system in relation to the others.  It was good to be on a working farm and to see farm activities as well as realise how difficult life can be at times, eg no rain at present. The bedrooms in the Hay Barn are at ground level. There are 3 double en-suite bedrooms. 2 bedrooms have a 6ft king-size bed which can be converted to twin single beds if required and each has a walk-in contemporary wetroom. The third bedroom has a king-size bed and en-suite with bath and overhead shower.

Each bedroom has a set of french doors which lead to a patio area for some al-fresco breakfast dining.

The galleried staircase leads to the living area on the first floor. The first floor provides a view over the open countryside and landscaped garden.

The first floor of the Hay Barn features an oak truss frame and is open plan incorporating a handmade country kitchen, large oak dining table area and lounge area with a log fire stove and big comfy leather sofas. There is underfloor heating throughout the barn to ensure you remain snug all year round.

The large dining table seats 12 people to allow for communal dining when all 3 barns are taken as a group booking.
