The Dovecote Barns have been the successful development of Brigita and Richard Bramley who devote their days towards making the retreat a place of total comfort and relaxation. It took about 14 months to rearrange the farm and convert the redundant farm buildings into three five-star gold Visit England award winning luxury barns. They have been lovingly restored to maintain all the rustic charm of old farm barn buildings whilst providing first class fittings and luxury.
Brigita and Richard are passionate about providing a memorable first class stay for their guests. Brigita manages the Dovecote Barns on a daily basis and Richard is always nearby as he works the arable farm full-time as well as working with researchers and policy makers to improve sustainability of farming and home produced food. Committed to excellent customer service, they live in the farmhouse on-site, always on hand should they be needed.
Richard is the third generation of his Yorkshire family to farm at Manor Farm. Back in the 1930s the barns were fully in use by the family and their history has been brought to life by the sympathetic interiors mixture of original features and historical story telling.
Brigita is Dublin born, spent much of her life travelling, met Richard in Australia in the early 1990s and has made Yorkshire her home ever since. They are married with 3 young adult children. Her passion is ‘people and interior design’ and loves welcoming back all the return guests as well as practising retail therapy for the barn interiors!
They couldn’t offer the service they do without the support of their wonderful helpers Steve, Ann, Lindsey and Niamh.
