The Dovecote Barns offers you a taste of country living in the sumptuously furnished surroundings of these new holiday 18th century barn conversions. Using only renewable energy, you can enjoy year round luxury and comfort with no compromise to you or the environment.

There are three barns (sleeping 2,4,6 people), devotedly restored and including hand-made country kitchens with granite worktops, 6 en-suite bedrooms with luxury mattresses and individually designed contemporary bathrooms, log stoves and under-floor heating. All offer the highest standard of luxury, comfort, furnishings, art and design. Each barn has its own private garden area with barbeque for dining al fresco.

Relax in the open countryside beside the River Ouse, or stroll through the medieval streets of one of England's most ancient cities - York. We are on a direct bus route into York city centre and within easy reach of some of Yorkshire's best historic estates and attractions.

The barns are a perfect retreat for wedding parties, family reunions or any group, whether couples, friends or families. A large group of 12 can dine together in the Haybarn.

'Staying in Dovecote Barns is like staying in a dream country place out of a magazine. It was such a wonderful environment to be in that we just wanted to spend all our time hanging out at the house. The comfort factor is extremely high, from wonderful beds, to highly specced bathrooms to the most comprehensive set of kitchen kit you could think of. Sitting out on the terrace having breakfast, lounging on the sofas, snoozing in the big beds, going for a walk across the farm, gazing at the views. I could go on! All perfect and designed to make you very relaxed.
As someone who is into her eco stuff I was very happy that all our heating and hot water was coming from a wood pellet fuelled boiler, and that there were solar panels for electricity. It really makes you realise that eco is more luxurious than fossil fuel!
The way we were looked after was perfect, nothing was too much trouble and we felt like Brig and Richard really cared that we had a good time. They were very genuine and willing to help with everything from directions to info about the crops on the farm!' TripAdvisor - July 2010
