Occasion Venue - The Long Hall at Dovecote Barns York, North Yorkshire

The Long Hall is the perfect venue for all kinds of gatherings – from small celebrations, group activities and birthdays to corporate meetings. Celebrate with private dining and your own in-house chef!

For any party group the whole site must be taken to avoid disturbance to other guests staying on-site. Please check either the ‘book online’ or ‘group bookings’ pages for a calendar showing when the full site is available to book.

Overview

When a group booking is made, the separate rental of ‘The Long Hall’ gives you a flexible space allowing you to have group private dining seated at one table using the Grand Barn kitchen to cater for the whole group.

Fairy lights make it feel extra special and you are free to decorate the space yourself also. All the crockery, cutlery, glasses, place settings, tables and chairs are provided in the rental and there is also the space for table tennis if required. The bar is not operational during normal self-catering rental.

For ‘events’ such as a small wedding, a staffed licenced bar to provide draught ale and lager as well as a fully stocked bar is provided. Terms and conditions apply. Max capacity for such events is 56 guests.

You can self cater or have some fine dining with a private chef, or a business meeting for a classy off-site or team building event.

The Space

A large multi functional heated space with bar and 2 toilets (one fully accessible).

Fully Licenced Bar (optional)

An optional licenced bar at the Long Hall can be staffed and provide private guests with draught ale and lager and a range of spirits, wine and Prosecco etc

Food & Drink

A full catering service can be provided for you in the Long Hall. The private chef uses the kitchen in the Grand Barn for larger groups. For smaller groups please contact us if you wish to hire a private chef.

Rules & Etiquette

All four barns must be rented onsite in order to rent exclusive use of the Long Hall.

On request, there is a staffed licenced bar in the Long Hall if required. When this is booked, you are liable either for corkage or purchase of wine/Prosecco/spirits etc from the bar. Otherwise access to the bar is prohibited during normal rental.

Group Size

The use of the bar and Long Hall is for private guests only and the whole site must be rented to avoid disturbance to other guests on-site.

Whilst staying at the barns, all 22 guests can come together to dine.

Exclusive events can have 56 guests to dine (contact us).

For that extra special occasion, the Long Hall provides the perfect setting for your celebration with friends or family.

For larger exclusive events, rental allows up to 56 guests to dine together with catering and licenced bar. This allows additional guests to those 22 staying on-site. Tables, chairs and all the trappings are provided in the rental.

The licenced bar is only in operation for these exclusive events. Under normal group rental, the bar itself is closed. The room and toilets are rented on a self-catering basis.

Private Group Dining

For groups, The Long Hall is rented to allow all 22 staying on-site to dine and socialise together. All the tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery, glasses etc are supplied to allow the whole group to come together.

When there are smaller gatherings of 10-12, both the Hay Barn and Grand Barn are equipped to offer group dining around a large oak table.

Full catering and private chef can be hired to cook and serve in both the barns and the Long Hall (subject to availability). Contact us.

Meetings

The Long Hall is a perfect venue for corporate off-site meetings. Tables and chairs can be arranged for meetings and catering facilitated if required. Superfast wifi and accessible toilets.

With a total of 11 ensuite bedrooms, flexibility to have an off-site Monday to Friday mid-week stay is possible.
