We're Good To Go - Visit England

The Dovecote Barns on the Bramley family farm is a sustainable holiday cottage development.  Much of the farmland at Kelfield is now regularly flooded due to climate change.  This water storage, deemed as a flood plain, protects nearby villages and towns incurs loss of crops and income frequently.  For this storage service there is no compensation, hence the need to diversify.

The owners Brigita and Richard Bramley live in the farmhouse onsite. The arable farm surrounding the barns provides the perfect example of excellent environmental farming.  Richard is the third generation of his family to farm at Manor Farm, which has been in the family since the mid 1930s.  The converted 18th century holiday barns reflect in name what purpose they served at that time.

The focus of the restoration of the barns is to maintain as much of their original features. Materials found on the farm are repurposed and recycled within a fully green environmental build.  Brigita very much enjoys putting her favourite pastime to use with the design and furnishing of the barns to give them that country living sumptuous feel.  Dublin born but an honorary Yorkshire woman, she guarantees a warm Yorkshire welcome at The Dovecote Barns.
