'I don't usually consider short breaks in self catering accommodation to be a break. However, staying in Dovecote Barns is like staying in a 5 star hotel. The welcome basket just about provides your breakfast. Every need has been thought of - the decor, comfort, facilities - excellent.

The Dovecote Barns offers you a taste of country living in the sumptuously furnished surroundings of these new holiday 18th century barn conversions. Using only renewable energy, you can enjoy year round luxury and comfort with no compromise to you or the environment.
There are three barns (sleeping 2,4,6 people), devotedly restored and including hand-made country kitchens with granite worktops, 6 en-suite bedrooms with luxury mattresses and individually designed contemporary bathrooms, log stoves and under-floor heating. All offer the highest standard of luxury, comfort, furnishings, art and design. Each barn has its own private garden area with barbeque for dining al fresco.
Relax in the open countryside beside the River Ouse, or stroll through the medieval streets of one of England's most ancient cities - York. We are on a direct bus route into York city centre and within easy reach of some of Yorkshire's best historic estates and attractions.
Travel time into York varies between 15 and 30 minutes depending on method of transport. We are located 10 mins from the York Designer Outlet where a Park & Ride service operated into York city centre.
The barns are a perfect retreat for wedding parties, family reunions or any group, whether couples, friends or families.
A large group of 12 can dine together in the Haybarn.
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, with a complimentary pre-arrival supermarket delivery unpacking service, welcome baskets, as well as pamper, chefing and coach hire services available.
