In a rural setting, the barns are approx 10 miles South of York and there are three methods of getting into York, taking between 20-30 minutes depending on mode of transport.
You can drive, take the bus, or drive to the Designer Outlet and get the park and ride bus from there. The quickest method is by car or public bus direct from the barns.
Using the ‘what3words’ app or what3words.com in a browser, you can locate the 3 metre square area where each barns entrance is located.
Simply type in the 3 random word reference into the search bar, each word separated by a dot.
The Long Hall – central.climbing.squeaking
The Grand Barn – models.sharper.pupils
The Hay Barn – salads.butternut.bookshop
The Dovecote – flexibly.struck.richest

Arriva number 42 runs between Selby train station and York Piccadilly in the city centre via the barns. The barns are equidistant between both and it takes under a half hour to travel from the barns into the city centre. There is a late service returning from York to the barns at 9pm and 11pm on a Saturday only.
There is a pub in the village of Kelfield as well as a few options along the riverbank walk in Cawood, the neighbouring village.
We only run the bar in the Long Hall during larger ‘events’ and serve draught lager and ale in addition to a full bar service. Please contact us for our ‘event’ pricing and options when holding an event alongside ‘exclusive use’ bookings for larger groups than 22 in total.
There is a train station at both Selby and York. Both run services to London Kings Cross. Selby station has the added bonus of a bus service that runs to the barns directly from the station.
York station has two options, to take the Designer Outlet service from across from the entrance to the station and then catch the Arriva 42 service from the road beside the outlet car park to complete your bus journey to the barns.
We’d love to hear from you. If you have any queries or requests please send a message and we’ll get right back to you.
