“We’ve been coming to Dovecote Barns near York as a family for over 16 years now, and it’s honestly one of our favourite places in the country. From the moment you arrive, you’re made to feel so genuinely welcome — nothing is ever too much trouble, and the hosts always make sure everything is perfect for your stay.
The barns themselves are beautiful — spotlessly clean, really comfortable, and so well-equipped. You can tell a lot of thought and care goes into every detail. It’s the ideal place to relax, spend time together, and just switch off.
The location is brilliant too — peaceful countryside all around, but only a short drive into York if you want to explore the city or grab a nice meal out. We’ve done everything from family celebrations to quiet weekends here, and it always feels special.
It’s also great value for money for the quality and comfort you get. Every time we leave, we’re already planning our next visit!”
