Our national award-winning 18th-century barns offer a sophisticated rural escape designed for focus, privacy, and connection.

Spaces Designed for Collaboration

When you book the Barns, the entire site is yours. This exclusivity allows for honest communication and total focus without outside distractions. Plenty of cosy lounges are available for smaller breakout chats or having a quiet coffee.

The Long Hall

A warm, flexible space perfect for group meetings, workshops, or shared fine dining.

The Paddock & Games Room

Large outdoor spaces for team activities and a separate games room for winding down in the evening.

Five-Star Comfort

Our four 18th-century barns have been meticulously renovated, winning the national Visit England Awards for Excellence for their quality, attention to detail, customer service and sustainability.

Wind-Down Time

There are walks from the door including along the riverbank to cafes and pubs or through the fields to the wood. The area is very flat and not without busy roads it is a perfect area for running and cycling.

Central Location with Easy Access by Road & Rail

Located on our family-run arable farm just outside of York, The Dovecote Barns offer a quiet rural escape that’s surprisingly easy to reach.

Within easy reach of York city centre train station as well as M1, M62, or A1 motorways, the barns are the perfect “middle ground” for national teams and you’ll find plenty of private parking and a warm welcome waiting for you.

Regular trains run from London Kings Cross to York and take under 2 hours.

Intimate Accommodations

We offer 11 beautifully appointed ensuite bedrooms, featuring King or Super King beds. To provide flexibility for your team:

11 Ensuite Bedrooms: All featuring King or Super King beds (6 can be converted to twins), comfortably sleeping up to 22 guests based on two sharing per room.
Bedroom Options: If all bedrooms are split into twins there are 17 seperate beds. This is 12 singles (twin rooms), 3 kings and 2 super kings – all ensuite.
Self-Contained Privacy: Each barn features its own kitchen and lounge, though the Grand Barn is specially equipped to host an entire group of 22 for a communal fine-dining experience in the Long Hall.

Bespoke Catering: While you are welcome to self-cater, we can recommend full catering services using the very best local suppliers to make your stay even more relaxing. Breakfast welcome baskets are provided for each barn.

When we began restoring our 18th-century agricultural barns, our vision was simple: to create a sanctuary where the history of the buildings meets the needs of the modern world.

That’s why we’ve saved the fabric of these historic barns whilst committing from the start to running the entire site on 100% renewable energy, ensuring that while you relax and unwind from modern day pressures using all the modern facilities you’ve come to expect, we’re protecting the environment around us.
